What is therapy?
Therapy is steady time to understand yourself, practice new tools, and rebuild peace.
We don’t analyze for analysis’s sake—we help you act with clarity and calm.

Is therapy right for me?
It can help if you:
-
Feel stuck
-
Can’t rest even when the day is done
-
Feel alone in your marriage, work, or faith
-
Want your emotions to serve you, not rule you
Asking for help isn’t weakness; it’s stewardship of your own mind and life.

Who will I work with?
You’ll work with a licensed clinician or supervised counselor trained in evidence-based care.
Dr. Rothrock supervises all counselors for quality and alignment with our standards.

What happens in the first session?
We talk about what brought you here, set goals, and make a plan. We'll also cover paperwork that explains clinical policies and your rights as our client.
You leave knowing what we’re working toward and how we’ll track progress.

How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals.
Most start weekly, then taper as skills grow.
You’ll know therapy is working when stress feels smaller and confidence stronger.

What approach do you use?
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other structured, proven tools.
We match technique to person, not the other way around.

Do you take insurance?
Yes. Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, Cigna, United, Optum, Oscar, Medicaid and Medicare.
All insurance clients receive a Good Faith Estimate, but until we hear from the insurance company it is just an estimate. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card for a faster confirmation.

Is it confidential?
Yes. Your information is protected by law and practice policy.
We only share with your written consent or when safety requires it.
We will not acknowledge you in public unless you greet us first.

Do you offer online sessions?
Yes—our practice is 100% online for clients in Virginia.
We use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant video technology.

What if I don’t feel comfortable with my therapist?
Fit matters.
If it isn’t right, we’ll help you transition to another counselor—inside or outside our team—so your care continues smoothly.

Emergencies?
If you are in crisis or thinking about harm, call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
We do not monitor email or social media for emergencies.

Records & Privacy
You can access records anytime through our secure client portal.
We keep them as required by Virginia law.
