I work with people who live in their heads.

Not because they’re fragile.

Because they’re serious, intelligent, and used to being the responsible one.

High performers often develop a specific problem:

  • They can execute relentlessly, but struggle to authorize their own desires.

  • They keep waiting for certainty, permission, or proof they “deserve” the life they want.

  • That hesitation becomes rumination.

  • Rumination becomes avoidance.

  • Avoidance becomes self-doubt.

Therapy here is designed to interrupt that progression and replace it with values-driven action and self-trust.

My style

Direct. Structured. Practical.

My approach is values-based and action-oriented. It respects emotion without being ruled by it.

You can expect:

  • a clear frame and professional boundaries

  • language that names patterns without dramatizing them

  • a focus on what is changeable: behavior, attention, choices, practice

  • skills you can use under pressure

  • depth work when it improves action—not as an end in itself

If you want therapy that stays conceptual and open-ended indefinitely, I’m not your best match.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is therapy?

Therapy is steady time to understand yourself, practice new tools, and rebuild peace.
We don’t analyze for analysis’s sake—we help you act with clarity and calm.

Is this online only?

Yes. I provide telehealth counseling only.
You must be physically located in Virginia at the time of the session.

What issues do you help with?

I work primarily with high-functioning adults experiencing:

  • generalized anxiety / dread

  • rumination and overthinking

  • meaning and identity conflict

  • performance anxiety

  • perfectionism and avoidance

  • difficulty committing to what they want

Is this coaching or therapy?

This is therapy/counseling provided by a Virginia-licensed professional within a clinical scope of practice.
It is not a coaching program or educational platform (though I may build those offerings separately in the future).

What happens in the first session?

We talk about what brought you here, set goals, and make a plan. We'll also cover paperwork that explains clinical policies and your rights as our client.

You leave knowing what we’re working toward and how we’ll track progress.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on your goals.
Most start weekly, then taper as skills grow.
You’ll know therapy is working when stress feels smaller and confidence stronger.

Do you guarantee outcomes?

No. Therapy is not ethically sold as a guarantee.
We can set goals, track patterns, and measure change, but results depend on multiple factors.

How long does therapy take?

There’s no single answer. Some people benefit from brief targeted work; others need longer-term support.
In general, progress is more predictable when you show up consistently and practice between sessions.

What’s required for telehealth?

  • a private space where you can speak freely

  • a stable internet connection

  • a device with a camera and microphone
    That’s it.

  •

I’m very busy. Is telehealth still worth doing?

If you’re too busy to attend therapy, you’re exactly the type of person telehealth serves well.
No commute. Lower friction. Easier consistency. Better follow-through.

You’re likely a good fit if:

  • your anxiety is high-functioning but costly

  • you want clarity, self-trust, and values-consistent action

  • you’re ready to work directly with rumination and avoidance patterns

  • you prefer direct communication

You’re likely not a good fit if:

  • you want reassurance, quick hacks, or certainty

  • you’re seeking a purely supportive space with no structured change work

  • you require a higher level of care than outpatient telehealth

Do you take insurance?

Yes. Aetna, Anthem, Carelon, Cigna, United, Optum, Oscar, Medicaid and Medicare.
All insurance clients receive a Good Faith Estimate, but until I hear from the insurance company it is just an estimate. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card for a faster confirmation.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Your information is protected by law and practice policy.
I only share with your written consent or when safety requires it.
I will not acknowledge you in public unless you greet us first.

Emergencies?

If you are in crisis or thinking about harm, call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
I do not monitor email or social media for emergencies.

Records & Privacy

You can access records anytime through our secure client portal.
I keep them as required by Virginia law.
